Happy Thursday, everyone!
And welcome to those of you who are here for the very first time!
Today I have something super special to share with you.
When Michelle Rubin asked me to be part of the Scrapbooks Etc. Craft it Forward Blog Hop this month, I was both flattered and terrified. Everyone knows I don't "do" cards. Or shall I say i can't do cards. HA! Cards and I are not friends.
Here's the thing that made me say "yes" immediately. This month's theme is thanking military personnel, or military themed. cards for the troops.
There are so many young men and women overseas (and at home) that don't have family or much of a support system. I have been at "welcome home" ceremonies after year long deployments and seen young soldiers just standing there without anyone to hug them or thank them. Now y'all KNOW me and you know I went to hug their sweet necks...but my point is, cards for the troops are ALWAYS needed and appreciated.
Some great resources for you:
and a million more. if you take a moment to research, you'll see there are so many ways to send our men and women overseas some support and love.
I jumped at this the chance...because, clearly, this is something near and dear to my heart.
Here's the lovely inspiration card this month:
i loved this card, and having dimensions and instructions was SO great, as i have no idea how to even make cards (which i may or may not have already mentioned)!
i changed the theme to something i will send jimmy..."come home safe". on the inside, it says "come home soon, you are my heart".
supplies: papers- my mind's eye label-pink paislee bow-jenni bowlin alphabets- american crafts (safe), october afternoon (come home)
and i really truly had FUN making this. i can't wait to send it in j's father's day package!
hope you enjoyed your stop at my blog, thank you so much for coming by!
now head over to the gorgeous (i mean seriously, have you SEEN her??) erin terrell clarkson's blog for the next card!
and if you lose your way, you can always go back to the Scrapbooks Etc. blog.
have a beautiful, blessed day!
xoxo
