*note- this post is not sponsored by stitch fix and i am not affiliated with them in any way. i just really love this company and this idea.**
Happy Friday / Buon Venerdi, y'all!
Last year I used to blog regularly about Stitch Fix. I loved the concept and the service and I was super bummed when I found out that they don't ship to APO addresses.
Fast forward to a few months ago…I found out that they ARE shipping to APO addresses now. YAY!
It seems that things have changed in a year. It took me quite a while to get a shipment. In the past I could schedule deliveries fairly quickly and that's not the case now. I'm glad that business is booming, but I'm not great at waiting, ha!
My box finally came yesterday and I thought I'd do a little review.
By the way- if you aren't familiar with Stitch Fix, here's a post I did with an overview.
I will say now that you need an invite/referral to join. If you join and order a box, I will get a credit to use toward future purchases.
If you hang around after I share the items I received – I will share some thoughts on this whole process.
Item One | Under Skies Melita Eyelet Detail Button-Up Shirt $58
Initial thoughts before trying on- Um it's 100 degrees and humid here and only getting hotter. Why would they send this to me? I won't be able to wear it for months and months!
Thoughts after trying on garment- Yep. Way too hot. And way too tight.
Item Two | Mystree Triste Chevron Striped Swing Skirt $58
Initial thoughts before trying on- CUTE! I love stripes!
Thoughts after trying on garment- WHOA. This barely covers my tush. Not an attractive look!
Item Three | Daniel Rainn Lydia Crochet Detail Split Neck Silk Blouse- $78
Initial thoughts before trying on- OOOOH! My favorite color! This looks like it would feel really cool this (hot) summer and I love the dot cutout details.
Thoughts after trying on garment- Perfect. Very flattering and gorgeous color.
Status- Hanging in my closet.
Item Four | Tart Martine Abstract Chevron Maxi Dress- $168
Initial thoughts before trying on- I am in love with this. But is that too much to spend on a dress? If I LOVE it, no. I will wear this all summer long and many summers to come. And I have a small credit left, so I can splurge a bit more than usual.
Thoughts after trying on garment- SO FLATTERING. Hangs perfectly, feels so soft, and the pattern hides and plays down everything I want it to.
Status- Hanging in my closet.
Item Five | Margaret Elizabeth Jewelry Eliza Druzy Stud Earrings- $88
Initial thoughts before trying on- Seriously? $88 for plain earrings? I don't mind spending a bit on jewelry but it has to be unique or something I couldn't get for a much better price.
Thoughts after trying on garment- Didn't try on.
My favorite item was the maxi dress. Far and away.
Okay- here are a few thoughts I had while typing up this post.
1. Why do I do Stitch Fix? For ME the reasons vary. Last year it was because going shopping made me sweat and stressed me out. This year it's because my options are so limited here.
Most people think…Oh EUROPE! SO FASHIONABLE!!! And yes. It is. But I am convinced that European people are tiny woodland sprites. A "Large" here is like an American small in many cases. European clothes are NOT made for my giantess body and feet.
Also- I prefer to buy a few more expensive items I love as opposed to many many lower priced items that will be ruined after just a couple of washes. Quality over quantity.
2. Any tips? Make a Pinterest board for your stylist. Mine is HERE. I cruise the Internet for Stitch Fix Review blog posts and pin pieces I love.
Also? BE SPECIFIC. I cannot stress this enough. When you fill out your style profile there will be a spot for "Final Comments". Fill that sucker up.
Also- do not be afraid to ask for a specific stylist. Or that you aren't given a certain stylist.
Long arms and legs .Prefer to not flaunt or highlight stomach.
I live in italy and have 4 kiddos. style icons=Audrey Hepburn&Kate Spade.
NO scratchy synthetic materials please.
I have small children so I prefer midi length, I'm often bending over.
Just b/c I'm classic does not mean I'm matronly!
Okay. That's it for this month. If you need an invite to try Stitch Fix, here you go!
