I don’t have anything interesting to say today, but I thought I’d share a few photos of how my house is coming along.
I talked to J for the first time yesterday and I’ve been smiling ever since.

First Things First
Holy cow, y’all are not joking around.
When I ask for help I get help.
I LOVE my blog readers.
I printed out all of the comments, and I’m going to answer them all this week.
But, first things first.
I am not going to stop blogging.
It’s kind of therapy for me, along with scrapbooking.
I love blogging and I don’t want to stop.
But I felt like I was running out of things to talk about,
and I didn’t want to be one of those boring, self-indulgent bloggers.
But thanks to you guys, I am rejuvenated.
I can’t tell you thank you enough.
So be on the lookout this week,
there might be a special something coming your way!
Lookie what we have on our front porch,
in a hanging basket:
Harper and I have been flipping out.
We’ve been watching the eggs, and when I took down the basket
and we saw these, we both were jumping up and down.
Dorky, I know.
But I don’t think I’ve ever seen birds this small.
Look at this one from my parent’s house:
I’ll be honest, he kind of freaks me out.
I feel like he’s going to peck my eye out or something.
But seriously…baby birds are EVERYWHERE right now.
I love it!!
Another thing that perked me right up is that yesterday was a fantastic mail day.
I got these cute Baby Legs:
Ridiculously cheap from Baby Steals, might I add.
That site is AMAZING.
Sign up for their daily emails, but I’ll warn you,
I’ll beat you to the deals, I’ve got fast typing fingers
and as soon as i find these sweet deals in my inbox, i snatch them right up.
hehehe
And I got these beautiful goodies from my friend Doris:
And I have to be honest, I don’t get excited over too many inanimate objects, heee
but this pile of beautiful vintage inspired goodness has my heart pounding:
Especially that amazing crepe paper ribbon.
I owe you BIG time, my friend.
Harper and I also made a run to the flea market yesterday.
A few of you have asked about this flea market.
1. How much do you spend each week? It seems expensive.- I usually spend about 20 dollars. Yesterday I spent 15. Not bad when you think about the fact that each thing is one of a kind with a story, and that I could buy one “new” thing for my home for the amount I spend each month on “loved” things for my home.
Some people don’t get it, they think this stuff is junk
or that it’s ugly…but that’s fine with me..more for me!
2. How do you find these things? My flea market has junk and only junk!!:
Patience, my friends. Mine has junk too. If you don’t bother to take your time and dig, you’d think it wasn’t worth your while. You’ve got to get your hands dirty!

Photo Shoot
Can you tell we are bored?
Here’s what we have been doing…
Taking photos to put on our family blog so that Daddy can see
how much we have already grown in one week!!
I also bought some floor seats for this:
Miss H is going to FLIP out. I’m going to surprise her and take her
on a special date. I can’t even imagine what her little face will look like.
I’m hoping to host some fun challenges over at Studio Calico this weekend

That Heart-Sinking, Lump in Your Throat Kinda Moment
Every day we have one of those.
This morning it almost did me in…
My brother came over and knocked on the door
and H ran to the door yelling “DADDYYYYYY!!!!”.
And then when I opened the door and it wasn’t him,
her little face just crumpled.
And I had to give the baby to my brother
so I could take H in her room and just hold her.
And cry into her hair.
And then life went on.
When your day starts out that way, what’s a girl to do?
Well, go to the flea market of course!!
Or Fee Farket as H calls it.
We dropped S off with my mom and off we went for some “special time”.
is it necessary to mention that i had a small heart attack when i found the first thing below?
it was buried underneath a pile of gross clothes
and the guy had NO idea what it was, so it was CHEAP.
seriously?
heart
attack.
I think H will agree that we felt MUCH better after our Fee Farket
adventure.
So that’s today.
On we march.
And is it sad that I look forward to bed time because that’s
when I put one of his shirts on my pillow and hold it?
And smell it? And I’m worried b/c he’s only been gone 3 nights
and it already is losing its smell.
Good think he left cologne and deodorant here. And yes,
I don’t care if you think that is weird. =)
I have some great photos to share tomorrow,
my mother’s dear friend, Nancy, brought her grand daughter over yesterday
to play with Harper.
And she brought me the most amazing, dear collection of vintage treasures
that belonged to her mother-in-law.
Nancy, If you are reading, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Back to Normal (whatever that means)
Busy, busy, busy.
Play-do, a new play vacuum cleaner (which she intensly pushes while frowning and saying
oh NO, vewwwy diwty. no no sadie), dress up, singing and dancing,
arts and crafts, phone conversations with my sweet friend Sarah, whose husband Nick
left too..Hey Sarah, you blog stalker you! hehhhe
Learning to make our beds, water the flowers,
inspecting the birds nest in the fern on the front porch,
these are all the things keeping us busy.
And wine and scrapbooking help after the wee ones are in bed,
I won’t lie.
Harper keeps saying “Harper go Afghanistan?”
which sounds like “hahpah go ahh gann ih sannnn?”
And that kind of breaks my heart, but it’s okay b/c I’m pretty sure she thinks
Whataburger is Afghanistan.
We stopped there to pick up a burger on the way to drop J off and she said
“OH!! ahh gann ih sannn!!!”
Okay harper, yes, that is Afghanistan.
Heee. I kind of wish I thought that’s where he was.
Much less scary.
But he might come back with a major belly in that case.
The way J works though? He eats bad every once in a while,
wakes up and runs like a zillion miles,
and his belly is gone.
Makes me sick. Hmmmph.
Anyway…
Things are okay. Got an email from him last night from wherever he is…
On the way to wherever exactly it is he’s going.
He sounded tired but good.
You know that 2nd picture in the last post?
The one where he looks like he is about to cry?
Well, I went back to look at that “roll” to try to figure out what he was thinking about…
and this was the photo before that one:
ACK! Talk about lump in the throat.
I can’t even believe I accidentally captured such a real, private moment.
See, this is what I love about this hobby.
It has made me look at things in a new light.
This is on the girls’ ceiling:
Harper loves it.
I, on the other hand will love it when it’s about 14 links shorther.
THEN it will be fun.
J recorded some of the girls’ favorite bed time stories
before he left and the chickies watched them for the first time last night:
Harper cracks me up in that first one. She’s like
“WHAT THE????” she was so excited and kept kissing the screen.
Sadie, as always, was baffled.
I snapped these quickly and promptly left the room.
As Harper says “No Mommy CRY!! Face MESSY!!!”.
So, that’s about it.
I do want to share some crafty randomness…
I bought some Real Simple goodies at Target the other day,
they were on sale so I got the address book and agenda…
I’ve been wanting them forever.
Of course I had to embellish them…
I’m obsessed with the Basic Grey Sultry Chip Stickers
I’ve been using them on everything since I got them months ago.
Here’s the simple way I dressed the books up:
I’ve also done a couple of layouts. I have a feeling I’ll do a TON of layouts over the next 15 months.
There’s nothing else for me to do after the girls go to bed and i don’t want to
sit still for one moment.
